Nicola Benedetti Presents Up Late In Edinburgh (Sky Arts, 9pm) – 1st October
Filmed late and live with an audience at the Edinburgh International Festival Hub, Sky Arts will air two 90 minute specials on classical and Jazz music, with violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti introducing and playing in both shows alongside 9 times Grammy awarded winning jazz musician Wynton Marsalis. This is a unique opportunity to see these world class performers together in one room and captured as live for Sky Arts.
The Ark: Season 2 (Sky Sci-Fi, 9pm) – 3rd October
The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. In Season two, after the brave crew of Ark One reaches their destination and finds it uninhabitable, they must survive long enough to locate a new home for themselves and all the ships that follow. All episodes arrive at once.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Season 2: The Book of Carol (Sky Max, 9pm) – 4th October
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol picks up where season one left off, following fan-favourite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet (Anne Charrier)’s movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France’s future. Episodes arrive weekly.
Chimp Crazy: Season 1 (Sky Documentaries, 9pm) – 6th October
Former nurse-turned-exotic-animal-broker Tonia Haddix, who refers to herself as the “Dolly Parton of chimps,” spends her days caring for animals in captivity. However, her limitless love for one chimpanzee spins into a wild cat-and-mouse game with authorities and an animal rights group. Through the experiences of Tonia and other “chimp moms,” Chimp Crazy reveals the bonds between owners and their highly intelligent great ape pets, the risks humans take when they raise these animals as members of their family, and the risks to the welfare of the animals themselves. All episodes arrive at once.
Sweetpea: Season 1 (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 10th October
Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Fallout), stars alongside Nicôle Lecky (Mood), Jon Pointing (Big Boys), Calam Lynch (Bridgerton), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso) and Dustin Demri-Burns (Slow Horses) in this new Sky original six-part coming of rage story. Rhiannon Lewis doesn’t make much of an impression – people walk past her in the street without a second glance. Then everything in her life turns upside down. Rhiannon is pushed over the edge and loses control. Suddenly the wallflower is gone, and in its place is a young woman capable of anything… But can she keep her killer secret? All episodes arrive at once.
Portrait Artist of the Year: Season 11 (Sky Arts, 8pm) – 9th October
Palettes prepped and canvases primed, the nation’s favourite art competition returns to the iconic Battersea Arts Centre for its eleventh series, once again helmed by Stephen Mangan. This year’s Portrait Artist of the Year promises a thrilling showcase of talent as aspiring artists from across the UK vie for the coveted 2024 title. With celebrity sitters spanning the worlds of stage, screen, sport, literature, and politics, the competition is set to be as dynamic as ever. Over eight intense heats, these artists will put their skills to the test, aiming to dazzle our expert judges – Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kathleen Soriano, and Kate Bryan – and prove they have what it takes to capture the essence of their famous subjects. To open this year’s competition, we welcome actress, singer and all round national treasure Hannah Waddingham, along with veteran TV presenter Richard Madeley and Slow Horses star Saskia Reeves, to sit for our first round of artists. Forensics: Catching the Killer: Season 4 (Sky Crime, 8pm) – 14th October
Forensics: Catching the Killer returns for a fourth series and eight new murder cases – each one resolved thanks in part to the role of forensic science. In each episode we unpack a case in detail. We aim to speak to the families of those involved, as well as a cast list that will include forensic scientists, police officers, journalists, witnesses, friends, and experts. We open this series with an examination of the crimes of John Cooper, a Pembrokeshire farm labourer who won a fortune in a Spot the Ball competition and took to a life of drink, gambling and violence to sustain his lifestyle. By the time he was apprehended in 2009, he had murdered at least four people and left a trail of rape and burglary behind him that saw him given a whole life order. Episodes arrive weekly.
Last King of the Cross: Season 2 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 15th October
We return to the dangerous world of Kings Cross, as John Ibrahim expands his empire into the booming queer nightclub scene of Oxford Street, Sydney. Set against the backdrop of the ecstasy-fuelled 2000s, the stakes are higher than ever before, and everyone wants a piece – including John’s two younger brothers.
Never Mind the Buzzcocks: Season 4 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 16th October
Back with its patented brand of chaos and commotion, Never Mind the Buzzcocks returns to our screens with host Greg Davies and regular panellists Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix. We get the party started this series with the first of four special themed episodes, as “Buzzcocks Does Rock” with special guest captain and rock icon Courtney Love standing in for Daisy May Cooper. Also joining the fun will be The Zutons’ sax player Abi Harding, comedian and Masked Singer host Joel Dommett and original Sex Pistol Glen Matlock. Episodes arrive weekly.

A story of love and resilience based on the novel and the Broadway musical, The Color Purple is a decades-spanning tale of one woman’s journey to independence. Celie faces many hardships in her life, but ultimately finds extraordinary strength and hope in the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood.
Zombie Town – 5th October
Amy (Madi Monroe) and Mike (Marlon Kazadi) uncover a centuries-old secret when they decide to watch an exclusive film reel. Before they know it, their town has been turned to the undead before their eyes. The duo must track down an infamous filmmaker (Dan Akroyd) and navigate a town of hungry zombies to break the curse before it’s too late.
Restore Point – 6th October
It’s the year 2041, and humanity has reached the point where it can cheat death. Anyone who dies an unnatural death has the right to be brought back to life. All you have to do is to create a restore point at least every forty-eight hours. But there exists a movement of people who try to sabotage this concept. Agent Em finds herself drawn into a case that is not as simple as it first seems and the consequences of which reach to the highest levels of politics.

The Radleys – 18th October
Nestled in a quiet, suburban English town live The Radleys. To their neighbours, they are as ordinary as they come, yet beneath the surface, parents Peter (Lewis) and Helen (Macdonald) are concealing a devastatingly dark secret from their teenage children, Rowan and Clara. They are abstaining vampires, choosing not to drink blood despite their natural cravings, yet becoming more and more bloodthirsty by the day. When Clara is unexpectedly attacked by a boy in her class and her natural instincts take over, Peter and Helen are forced to reveal the truth. The shocking revelation encourages lovesick son Rowan and previously vegan Clara to question their own identity and suppressed desires.
Lisa Frankenstein – 12th October
A coming of rage love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.
Freud’s Last Session – 13th October
On the eve of the Second World War, two of the greatest minds on the twentieth century, C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud converge for their own personal battle over the existence of God. Freud’s Last Session interweaves the lives of Freud and Lewis, past, present, and through fantasy, bursting from the confines of Freud’s study on a dynamic journey.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – 25th October
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
The Book of Clarence – 27th October
Jerusalem, year 33. Pursuing a better life for himself and his family, Clarence (LaKeith Stanfield) decides to take advantage of the impact of Jesus Christ and become a new Messiah, risking everything along the way.
