What is Love Island Australia?

Love Island Australia is a dating reality show based on the international Love Island franchise.

Following the premise of other versions of the Love Island format, the show features a group of single contestants, known as "Islanders" who live together in a luxury Villa that is isolated from the outside world, in an attempt to find love.

The Islanders must Couple Up, stay together, and win over the hearts of the public, all while surviving the temptations of beautiful bombshells entering the Villa.

She first burst onto the scene as a member of the band Bardot, which was formed from one of Australia's first reality shows, Popstars. Bardot's first single, Poison, and self-titled album were both No.1 hits on the ARIA charts.

After leaving the band Sophie moved to Los Angeles where she starred in a number of cult classics including Date Movie (2006), Click (2006) and Spring Breakdown (2009).

Who won the first five seasons of Love Island Australia?

The winners of Love Island Australia are determined by a public vote.

Grant Crapp and Tayla Damir won the first season, but sadly they broke up two weeks after the finale aired. They split after Tayla learned the rumours of Grant's 'secret girlfriend on the outside' were true.

Tayla is now engaged to AFL player Nathan Broad, of the Richmond Tigers, and the pair recently welcomed their first child together.

Grant and his girlfriend Lucy Cartwright recently welcomed their second child together.

Season 2's winning couple was Anna McEvoy and Josh Packham. They moved in together in Melbourne after the show, but sadly announced their split in November 2020, almost a year after their finale.

In 2021, Josh competed on The Block with twin brother Luke – who was also on Love Island – while Anna now hosts a podcast with fellow Islander Matt Zukowski.

Anna has found her happily ever after with partner Michael Staples.

The pair have gone from strength to strength, and they married this year!

In Season 3, the winners were Tina Provis and Mitch Hibberd.

But in February 2022, 'Titch' announced the "heartbreaking" news that they had called it quits.

The duo reconnected when they appeared as Bombshells in Season 4, but they ended their romance once again months later.

In Season 4, it was fan-favourites Claudia Bonifazio and Austen Bugeja who took the crown, and the duo are still happier than ever in their romance. We love a happy ending!

Tyra Johannes and Kale Roberts won hearts with their swoon-worthy love story in Season 5 when Kale returned to the Villa after being Dumped. More than a year on, the pair are celebrating their anniversary.
